Helllllooooo, Anyone there?

I got the email from Bud and thought I’d go through with the whole blogging thing….

I’m currently working on my first podcasting project with my 5th graders. They are researching famous scientists/inventors. I will be posting these to my new Fall River Technology blog (publicly opened last week and still in the baby stage). I will be presenting them in true podcast form ~ available for subscription in RSS format~ coming soon!

I am also currently using Twitter with a third grade class as a communication tool with parents.

Oh and by the way…I now use a Delicious account with all my students 1st ~ 5th. Check it out.

Also, I am working on having 3rd, 4th, 5th graders develop personal websites (unpublished due to personal information and safety issues). Students will use iWeb to do this. They are going to be including projects they complete throughout the year.

I will be sharing all of this new information at a parent meeting on Monday.

All of this would not have been possible with out Cyber Camp! You guys ROCK! I hope all is going well with each of you. I am excited to hear everything that is going on.

Dennis asked me for some information about available grants for technology. I asked my Twitter network for assistance and received this great link from Suzanne Shanks, a colleague in Colorado Springs. Should be a good start for anyone seeking grant ideas. I also received a link to eSchoolNews from Colin Davitt, a colleague in St. Louis, MO. Should be plenty of places to start – let us know what the good grants are. (Oh – and if you think it makes sense, try to apply as a group across schools.)

I finished my first flip chart, but it doesn’t have a ton of bells and whistles. I want to interact with it a bit on the active board before I get further into it. In all honesty, my project is feeling a little undefined at the moment. I am struggling to try and find a focus. Anyone? Anyone? (shameless call for comments to validate my difficult technosperience)

I want to build on my moodle sites, I want to figure out a website that my newspaper students can interact with, and I want to download the new Coldplay CD. But I am pretty proud of myself for importing my bookmarks from the Citrix explorer to my computer explorer without asking for help.

But am I getting a good grade?
